Twice upon a Garden
2009
Medium length documentary
This ode to the beauty of life is a celebration of two contiguous gardens, one historical, the other contemporary.
We explore them to the rhythm of the seasons and the dialogue between the architect of renewal, Alexander Reford, and Elsie Reford, his great-grandmother, Grande Dame and visionary creator of the Reford Gardens (Les Jardins de Métis). A parallel exploration where art becomes a garden and gardening is celebrated as an art.

A conversation between the black and white of a priceless legacy of archival photos and the kaleidoscopic colors of the living, both intertwined in the portrait of a place where human creativity and the organic world become one.
