With young soldiers from the Black Watch, the very same regiment, we then shot scenes in Old Montreal to reenact the fighting. With digital sound and visual post-production, we married the Mons archives and the Montreal fiction sequences to create a visual narrative displayed on three large screens and a smaller diamond shaped projection surface on the floor. Wishing to transport the viewers to the heart of the hostilities, we used spatialized sound and visuals to place them in an architectural rapport to the screen space, the walls of the projection cube meant to mirror the alleys and streets of Mons.
